PMS
Are you experiencing symptoms of PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome)? Recent studies have indicated that chiropractic care may offer relief for PMS in individuals residing in Shanghai, China. It is estimated that approximately 90-95% of women suffer from symptoms of PMS, with 15% experiencing debilitating cramps. While over-the-counter and prescription medications, as well as birth control, can help alleviate these symptoms, they often come with side effects such as headaches, nausea, decreased libido, mood swings, and, in extreme cases, serious complications. Chiropractic adjustments provide a safe and natural treatment option that can improve premenstrual problems and alleviate pain for many women.
COMMON CAUSES OF PMS
Through our experience, we have found that our patients typically respond well to adjustments in the lumbar region and sacrum. These areas contain nerves that extend to the reproductive organs. If there is a subluxation in these regions, it can lead to painful premenstrual symptoms and menstrual cycles. Additionally, misalignment in the pelvis can exert added pressure on the reproductive organs, exacerbating the symptoms. Therefore, misalignments in the sacral and lumbar regions are common causes of PMS.
STUDY RESULTS Chiropractic
The Journal of Chiropractic Research and Clinical Investigation published an article detailing a study conducted with 11 women who had experienced PMS for more than four consecutive months. The study identified and listed subluxations using the Gonstead listing method. All participants were placed on a monthly treatment plan with more frequent visits during severe symptom periods. After receiving chiropractic adjustments for four menstrual cycles, the women reported a 38.6% decrease in irritability, 40.1% decrease in tension, 70.7% decrease in sexual drive/habit changes, and 41.7% decrease in physical symptoms. In some cases, all symptoms disappeared after initiating treatment. If you are experiencing premenstrual or menstrual symptoms, please contact our clinic in Shanghai, China today.
